Our team publishes poetry, fiction, nonfiction, photography, and artwork that relates in some way to grief, loss, or mourning. The term “grief” is open to interpretation. We are looking for powerful, moving works of art that speak to the incredible journey of living after we have lost.
There are no preferences in terms of length, formatting, or style. The grieving process looks different to everyone, so we want the work in our magazine to reflect that.
Due to the volume of submissions we receive, we ask that you allow 3-5 months for our editorial team to review your work. Simultaneous submissions are accepted. Please understand that we are unable to pay contributors at this time.
A note on poetry, art, and photography submissions:
If you are submitting several poems, photos, or art pieces please put them all in one document.
If your work is accepted for publication in The Grief Diaries, we will contact you as soon as possible. We acquire first rights for published work, and upon publication, all rights revert back to you. Please note that we can only accept previously published work that has not been published in an electronic format. We can only republish work that has appeared elsewhere in print.
